At Rainforest Adventure Camps, we believe in the power of play. We are a community-focused non-profit dedicated to developing participants’ resilience, empathy, and independence in a fun, outdoor setting. If you are an outgoing, high-energy leader who thrives in the woods and the water, we want to meet you!

Who You Are: The Energetic Mentor
You are a "people person" who stays patient and kind even when the weather isn't perfect. You are creative, reliable, and take initiative to build a sense of community.

  • - An Experienced Leader: You have at least 600 hours of professional experience leading groups of children ages 5-12.
  • - Safety-First: You are comfortable managing groups near water (lakes/pools) and are always a step ahead when it comes to risk management.
  • - The Game Master: You have a "backpack" full of games and activities ready to go at a moment's notice.

What Your Days Will Look Like:

  • - Lead the Fun: Guide children through daily adventures, facilitating games and forest exploration.
  • - Active Supervision (Land & Water): This is a high-movement role. You will be in the water with campers daily at arm's reach to ensure safety and engagement in the water.
  • - Cultivate Community: Build a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels seen and empowered.
  • - De-escalate with Kindness: Anticipate social challenges among campers and resolve them with a calm, respectful approach.

Prerequisites:

  • - 600+ hours of professional experience leading groups of 8–12 children in a recreational or educational setting.
  • - Safety: Current Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) & First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • - CSJ Eligibility: Must be 18–30 years old and a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person.
  • - Transport: A reliable vehicle is strongly recommended.

Locations: We have camps throughout Metro Vancouver. Please list your preferred cities in your application. A reliable vehicle is strongly recommended. Our camps go on different out-trips each day and we meet near the out-trip of the day. You will be scheduled for a camp location that is convenient for you; you are not expected to travel between cities daily.

Join Our Mission: Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit on a mission to inspire and empower. We value diversity and invite experienced leaders from all backgrounds to apply to our child-centred programs.
