Day Camp Inclusion and Co-Regulation Specialist (EA, BI, RBT)- Summer

We are seeking experienced Inclusion and Co-Regulation Specialists, EAs, BIs, RBTs, and certified professionals that wish to make a positive impact in the community.

Pay: CA$23.00/hour
Location: Metro Vancouver, BC (Camps located in various cities; you will be scheduled at a camp location near you).

Schedule: Full-time from June 26–Sept. 4 for eligible CSJ candidates.

At Rainforest Adventure Camps, we believe in the power of play. We are a community-focused non-profit dedicated to developing resilience, empathy, and independence in a fun, outdoor setting. We are seeking dedicated Inclusion and Co-Regulation Specialists, EAs, BIs, RBTs, and certified professionals who are passionate about co-regulation and inclusion. Your mission is to provide 1:1 or small-group support, ensuring every child can safely engage in the camp community.

Who You Are: The Patient Advocate
You are a "people person" with a deep understanding of developmental and emotional diversity. You recognize that behavior is communication, whether it stems from neurodivergence, trauma, or environmental stress.

  • - The Calm in the Storm: You possess a grounded presence and the ability to de-escalate challenges with dignity and respect.
  • - Adaptability Pro: You can take a high-energy group game and subtly modify it so the child you are supporting can participate and succeed.
  • - Team Player & Leader: You work seamlessly with families to implement support plans, but you are also ready to step up and co-lead the larger group when 1:1 support isn't required.

What Your Days Will Look Like:

  • - Individualized Support: Provide 1:1 or small-group guidance to help children navigate social interactions and transitions.
  • - Dynamic Leadership: In the absence of specific 1:1 needs, you will lead or co-lead larger groups of campers, applying your expertise in group dynamics to the whole camp.
  • - Active Supervision (Water & Land): We are an outdoor, active camp. You must be comfortable being physically active in forests and getting into the water (pools/lakes). For safety, you will be expected to be in the water and at arm's reach of campers during water activities.

Prerequisites:

  • - 900+ hours of professional experience supporting children with diverse behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs (e.g., school-based EA work, clinical BI work, etc.).
  • - Certification: RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), Certificate in Behaviour Intervention, or EA designation/education.
  • - Safety: Current Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Sector) and First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • - CSJ Eligibility: As this job is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian citizens, Permanent residents, or Protected Persons.

Locations: We have camps throughout Metro Vancouver. Please list your preferred cities in your application. A reliable vehicle is strongly recommended. Our camps go on different out-trips each day and we meet near the out-trip of the day. You will be scheduled for a camp location that is convenient for you; you are not expected to travel between cities daily.

Join Our Mission: Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit on a mission to inspire and empower. We value diversity and invite experienced leaders from all backgrounds to apply to our child-centred programs.
